Lo Cu Pan San Jose

This kind of food is called Lo Cu Pan. A kind of noodle made of rice flour (tepung beras :D ). I can only find one place selling it in Bandung: San Jose. We can find the place behind GOR (Gedung Olah Raga) Pajajaran, Jalan Pajajaran, Bandung.

You should visit the venue early in the morning; several times I couldn't have it, even when I arrived there at 07.30 AM, sold out!

A portion of this Lo Cu Pan with 2 dumplings or 2 meatballs with soup will cost you IDR 20,000. We can have additional "Jelly Mushroom" (Jamur Kuping) for IDR 2000. They also provide 3 kinds of chili add-ons: chili sauce, slices of thai pepper (cabe rawit) dipped in vinegar+sugar liquid, and ground orange thai pepper (cabe rawit orange yang dihaluskan). We can ask for fried onion too. Hmm... reallyy yummyy.

Kambing Bakar Cairo

This rather newly established Jakarta branch of the famous original "Kambing Bakar Cairo, Bandung" (Cairo Grilled Lamb), also provides the same Cairo-style grilled lamb, with 3-serving options (250 grams, 350 grams, 500 grams) and another 3 lamb-cuts variety for you to choose from.

Serving options:
  • 250 grams, IDR 36,000.
  • 350 grams, IDR 50,000.
  • 500 grams, IDR 70,000.

Lamb Cut options:
  1. Thigh (recommended for juicy and more fulfilling meat portion).
  2. Ribs (recommended for crispier lamb portion and less-fat compared to other cut variety).
  3. Back (recommended for its bone marrow).

We ordered one of the 350-grams lamb thigh option:

The lamb is juicy and tender, served on a hot-plate to prevent the lamb from being cold and to keep the aroma available for you to smell, making you crave for more.

For you who don't like the distinctive smell and taste of sub-par lamb menu (usually described as "gamey" for its disappointing smell and taste), this is the perfect chance for you to try good roasted lamb menu, the lamb I tasted didn't have any disappointing smell nor taste, it is cooked almost to perfection with rich flavor and good smell.

We also ordered "Tongseng" for side-dish, and the "Chocolate Cheese Mariam Bread + ice cream" for dessert.

We will plan for more visit to this place.
